My Story
For much of my young adult life, I lived in silence, trapped in a reality that didn't feel like my own. As a chronic people-pleaser since childhood, I had crafted a life that looked perfect on paper but was merely a façade. The turning point came with the birth of my daughter, sparking a profound realization: I could no longer continue living a life that wasn't genuinely mine. Despite the fear of disappointment and the daunting prospect of starting anew, the need for change became undeniable.
In my search for answers, I sought help from various medical professionals—OB-GYNs, midwives, family doctors, and psychiatrists. I hoped each appointment would reveal a hidden issue that could explain my discontent, offering an easy escape. Yet, despite minor irregularities, the verdict was always the same: I was physically "healthy." My inner turmoil was invisible to my family and friends, who saw only the outward appearance of a happy marriage and a healthy child.
On the weekend of my daughter’s second birthday, driven by a sudden surge of courage, I left with nothing but a laundry basket of clothes and my baby girl. The decision was spontaneous, but the sense of relief was immediate, affirming my choice. However, the initial relief was soon overshadowed by dark times, exacerbated by a mix of antidepressants, benzos, and sleeping medications. My journey to emerge from the fog of these pharmaceuticals was grueling, and the process of weaning off them revealed the harsh reality of withdrawal symptoms that affected both my mental and physical health profoundly.
Years have passed since that pivotal weekend, and today, I can look back at my former self with compassion and understanding rather than resentment and guilt. This journey has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and the transformative power of embracing natural healing methods through diet and plant medicine.
Now, after facing numerous challenges that tested my strength and reshaped my perspective, I recognize the potent forces at play in the universe—and within ourselves. I’ve learned to live with grace and to marvel at the miracles our world holds. Inspired by both my professional knowledge and my personal experiences, and driven by a passion for mental health and well-being, I founded Intuition Matters, LLC in the fall of 2020. This venture is not just a ‘business’ for me—it's a commitment to helping others navigate their paths with loving intuitive guidance and conscious understanding.
